A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND
• GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY
ON TUESDAY, THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1970, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING FOUR MEMBERS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS
OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 1000 of the
Charter of the City of Newport Beach, a regular general municipal
election shall be held on the 14th day of April, 1970, for the
election of four members of the City Council of said City for the
full term of four years;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section
1000 of the Charter of the City of Newport Beach, there shall be,
and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of
Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, on Tuesday,
the 14th day of April, 1970, a regular general municipal election
of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing
four members of the City Council of said City for the full term
of four years.
SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election
shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as
may be required by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and
. all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies,
equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to

properly and lawfully conduct said election.
SECTION 4. That the polls for said election shall be
open at 7800 a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain
open continuously from said time until 7 ;00 p.m. of the same day
when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section
14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 5. That for the purpose of holding said general
municipal election, the City Council shall hereafter by resolution
fix, establish and appoint voting precincts, polling places of the
respective precincts, and the respective boards of election for
said respective precincts.
SECTION 6. That in all particulars not recited in this
Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided
by law for holding municipal elections in said City.
SECTION 7. That notice of the time and place of holding
said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or
additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as
required by law.
