A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE.ANNEXATION.TO
THE CITY OF- CERTAIN ONINHABITED_TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS_TO.THE.CITY OF .NEWPORT BEACH, KNOWN
AS ANNEXATION NO, 72 - FORD ROAD.ANNEX&ION
WHEREAS, on May 11, 19700 the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach directed the City Planning Director to
file an application with the Local Agency Formation Commission
of Orange County for the initiation of proceedings to annex to
the City certain contiguous uninhabited territory; and
WHEREAS, on July 22, 1970, the Local Agency
Formation Commission authorized the City of Newport Beach to
annex said territory without notice and hearing pursuant to
the authority of Section 35015 of the California Government
Code; and
WHEREAS, The Irvine Company is the owner of all of
the territory comprised within said annexation and has filed
its written consent to said annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby elects to proceed
with said annexation without further public notice or public
hearings in accordance with the provisions of Section 54797.1
of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings
relating to said annexation have been conducted strictly in
accordance with the requirements of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939;

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach HERE$Y RESOLVES as follows:
• SECTION 1. The annexation to the City of Newport
Beach, California, of that certain uninhabited territory
contiguous to said City, known as Annexation No. 72 - Ford
Road Annexation, is hereby approved. Said property is more
particularly described as follows:
That portion of Blocks 56 and 92 of Irvine's Subdivision,
in the County of.Orange, State of California, as per map
filed in Book 1, page 88 of Miscellaneous Maps in the
office of the County Recorder of said County, described
as follows:
Commencing at the most Northerly corner of said Block 92;
thence South 40° 36' 54" West 1293.24 feet along.the
Northwest line of said Block to an angle point in the
boundary of the City of.Newport Beach as established by
Ordinance Number 999 of said City, said angle point being
in the East right of way of MacArthur Boulevard as
described in a deed recorded in_Book 1047, page 557 of
Official Records of said County, said angle point being
the True Point of Beginning; thence leaving said boundary
North 11' 47' 55" West 96.15 feet along said right of way
to a point of cusp with a curve concave Northeasterly
having a radius of 25.00 feet, a radial to said point
bears South 78° 12' 05" West; thence Southeasterly and
Easterly 39.27 feet along said curve through an angle
of 90° 00' 00 "; thence North 78° 12' 05" East 9.81 feet
to the beginning of a curve concave Southwesterly having
a radius of 130.00 feet; thence Southeasterly 145.74 feet
along said curve through an angle of 64' 14' 00 "; thence
South 370 33' 55" East 133.03 feet to the beginning of a
curve concave Northeasterly having a radius of 190.00
feet; thence Southeasterly 67.43 feet along said curve
through an angle of 20° 20' 00" ; thence South 570 53' 550°
East 49.14 feet to the beginning of a curve concave
Southwesterly having a radius of 210.00 feet; thence
Southeasterly 74.53 feet along said curve through an
angle of 20° 20' 00 "; thence South 37° 33' 55" East
149.13 feet to the beginning of a curve concave North-
easterly having a radius of 450.00 feet; thence South-
easterly 156.13 feet along said curve through an angle
of 190 52' 441' to the West line of the land described
in a deed to the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company
recorded in Book 7085, page 258, of said Official Records;
• thence South.130 05' 15' West 6.97 feet along said West
line to the North line of that certain 50.00 foot reser-
vation for road and utility purposes as described in said

deed, said North line being a curve concave Southerly
having a radius of 1246.00 feet, a radial to said point
bears North 13° 051 15B1 East; thence Easterly 18.14 feet
along said curve through an angle of 0° 50' 03" to a
point on a non - tangent curve concave Southwesterly
having a radius of 210.00 feet, a radial to said point
bears North 36° 15' 19" East; thence Southeasterly 23.26
feet along said curve through an angle of 6° 20' 46";
thence South 47° 41' 55" East 65.37 feet to the beginning
of a curve concave Northerly having a radius of 190.00
feet; thence Southeasterly 118.53 feet along said curve
through an angle of 35° 44' 36 "; thence non - tangent South
6° 33 29" West 2.00 feet to the North line of Tract 6621
as per map filed in Book 244, pages 1 through 6 of
Miscellaneous Maps in the Office of said County Recorder
and the boundary of said City as established by Annexation
Number 61 per Resolution Number 6704 of said City; thence
North 83° 26' 31" Nest 674.96 feet along said boundary to
the East right of way of said MacArthur Boulevard and the
boundary of said City as established by said Ordinance
Number 999; thence North 11° 47' 55" West 471.23 feet
along said boundary to the True Point of Beginning
SECTION 2. The boundaries of the City of Newport Beach,
California, are hereby altered to include the territory described
herein.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file
a certified copy of this resolution with the Secretary of State.
ADOPTED this 27th day of July, 1970.
