RESOLUTION No. 7489
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING SECTIONS OF
LAFAYETTE AVENUE AND VILLA WAY AS ONE WAY
STREETS
WHEREAS, Section 12.52.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this
City designates any one -way street or alley the City Traffic
Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof,
and Section 12.52.020 of the Municipal Code provides that when
signs are erected on any one -way street or alley giving notice
thereof, no person shall drive, or park, any vehicle in a
direction contrary thereto; and
WHEREAS, the streets hereinafter described are streets
which should be designated as one -way streets in order to
facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. That Lafayette Avenue, from 28th Street to Lido
Park Drive, is designated as a one -way street, for northbound
traffic only;
2. That Villa Way, from 32nd Street to 28th Street,
is designated as a one -way street, for southbound traffic only.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said
streets to indicate the above designations.
