RESOLUTION NO. 7522
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING ONE -WAY
STREETS ON THE NEWPORT PENINSULA
• WHEREAS, Section 12.52.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this
City designates any one -way street or alley the City Traffic:
Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof,
and Section 12.52.020 of the Municipal Code provides that when
signs are erected on any one -way street or alley giving notice
thereof, no person shall drive, or park, any vehicle in a
direction contrary thereto; and
WHEREAS, the streets hereinafter described are streets
which should be designated as one -way streets in order to
facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic hazards;
NOW, THEREFORE* BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the following streets on the
Newport Peninsula are hereby designated as one -way streets, in
the areas and directions noted;
Adams Street, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
Alvarado Street, from Bay Avenue to Balboa Boulevard;
Bay Avenue, from 18th Street to 19th Street;
Coronado Street, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
Court Avenue, from 19th Street to 20th Street;
Cypress Street, from Bay Avenue to Balboa Boulevard;
Island Avenue, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
6th Street, from Bay Avenue to Balboa Boulevard;
7th Street, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
9th Street, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
10th Street, from Bay Avenue to Balboa Boulevard;
11th Street, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
12th Street, from Bay Avenue to Balboa Boulevard;
13th Street, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
14th Street, from Bay Avenue to Balboa Boulevard;
18th Street, from Balboa Boulevard to Bay Avenue;
19th Street, from Bay Avenue to Court Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
0 is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said
