A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
OPEN AN ESCROW FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED
THEREON, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A
DEED TO SAID PROPERTY AND IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, Frank H. Ayres & Son, a California corporation,
is the owner of a certain parcel of real property, and improvements
located thereon, generally known as 6000 West Coast Highway,
Newport Beach, and more particularly described as:
Lots 16 and 17, Block 160 of River Section, Newport
Beach, in the City of Newport Beach, as shown on map
thereof recorded in book 4, page 25, Miscellaneous
Maps, records of Orange County, California;
and
ADOPTED this 14th day of August, 1972.

WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach wishes to purchase
said property and improvements thereon for the purpose of using
said premises as a library facility; and
WHEREAS, Frank H. Ayres & Son has offered to convey said
real property and improvements thereon for a sum of $55,500.00;and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has determined that this is a fair price for said property and
improvements, and wishes to accept said offer of $55,500.00 as the
fair market value of said property;

NOW, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of

the City of Newport Beach that the City Attorney is directed to

se of acquiring the property described en an escrow for the purpo

and is hereby authorized to execute those documents

necessary to carry out said escrow;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized
to accept a deed to said real property and improvements located
thereon, on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
