TITLE: Mobilitie Telecommunications Permit for Obelisk Located at 20661
Newport Coast Drive (PA2013 -003)
ABSTRACT:
Mobilitie submitted an application for a Telecommunications ( "Telecom ") Permit to
install a 55 -foot high stealth Telecom facility (obelisk) to accommodate antennas and
equipment for up to two Telecom carriers, including Verizon Wireless.
RECOMMENDATION:
Remove the item from the calendar.
DISCUSSION:
The Telecom Permit was reviewed at the June 11, 2013, City Council meeting. After
discussion, the City Council directed the applicant to work with the nearby homeowners
associations on alternative designs and locations, and the item was continued to July
23, 2013. The applicant has requested that the item be removed from the calendar in
order to allow additional time to work with the homeowners associations and review
alternative sites (Attachment No. CC 1). Because this application was continued to a
date certain, no additional public notice was required. Should this item be removed
from calendar, public notice will be provided pursuant to the Brown Act and Municipal
Code when the future hearing date is identified.

Hello Fern,
Per the conference call, Mobilitie would like to request this case be taken off the calendar for us to have ample time to
address the alternate locations and concerns expressed by the HOA.
Upon feedback from our engineers to the viability of possible alternative locations, we will inform the City if we will be
continuing with this application.
As expressed on the call, we were not fully aware of the CEQA and environmental concerns made below by OCWM until
the 6/28 meeting, but now that we are properly informed these concern can and will be addressed.
Thank you again for your time and patience,
Margaret
