A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING THE CITY
ARTS COMMITTEE BICENTENNIAL SUBCOMMITTEE
AS THE OFFICIAL BODY TO COORDINATE THE
AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND DESIGNATING
THE MAYOR AS CHAIRMAN OF SAID COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has been requested
by the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission to partici-
pate in the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of
this Nation; and
WHEREAS, the Newport Beach City Arts Committee has
been requested to coordinate the celebration activities within
the City; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide proper City representa-
tion, it is necessary for the City Council to officially desig-
nate a committee for the bicentennial celebration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Arts
Committee Bicentennial Subcommittee chaired by the Mayor is
hereby designated as the official body of this City to co-
ordinate the activities of the American Revolution Bicentennial
celebration within the City of Newport Beach.
ADOPTED this 23rd day of April , 1973.
