RESOLUTION NO. 7993
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH IMPOSING PARKING
RESTRICTIONS ON ORANGE STREET FROM SEA-
SHORE DRIVE TO OCEAN FRONT IN CONNECTION
WITH THE STREET SWEEPING PROGRAM ESTAB-
LISHED BY RESOLUTION NO. 7097
WHEREAS, Section 12.55.150 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that the City Council shall by
resolution designate streets or portions of streets on which
the parking or standing of vehicles is to be prohibited, and
shall designate in the resolution the days of the week and
the exact hours during which such prohibition shall be in
effect, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 7097 dated November 10,
1969, the City Council imposed parking restrictions in certain
areas of the City in order to effectively operate the City
street sweeping program; and subsequently added certain ad-
ditional areas by the adoption of Resolution No. 7666 dated
April 10, 1972; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it
would be in the public interest to revise the parking restric-
tions imposed by Resolution No. 7666 by adding Orange Street
from Seashore Drive to Ocean Front in connection with said
sweeping program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the following street shall be added
to those areas where parking of vehicles is prohibited between
the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Thursdays:
Orange Street - Seashore Drive to Ocean Front.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director
shall notify the residents in the affected area prior to imposing
the new parking regulations herein.
