A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING AN ALLOWANCE OF
ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS PER MONTH TO THE
MAYOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH AMENDED SECTION 404
OF THE CHARTER
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 8270, the City Council
authorized payment of the sum of $100 per month to the Mayor,
in addition to the payment authorized for expenses in
Section 402 of the City Charter, to reimburse him for the
additional demands made upon him and expenses incurred by him
in serving as Mayor, in accordance with Section 404 of the
Charter; and
WHEREAS, on June 6, 1974, recent amendments to the
City Charter were ratified by the State Legislature and filed
with the Secretary of State, among which was an amendment to
said Section 404, providing for an increase in the amount
reimbursable to the Mayor, up to $150 per month; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of allowing
such increase in payment to the Mayor, commencing on June 7,
1974;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the Mayor of said City be
allowed the sum of $150 per month during his term as Mayor,
beginning June 7, 1974, to reimburse him for the additional
demands made upon him and expenses incurred by him in serving
as Mayor, in accordance with amended Section 404 of the Neup ort
Beach City Charter.
