A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH MAKING ASSURANCES RELATING
TO PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS AND
ACTIVITIES FUNDED UNDER TITLE VI OF THE COM-
PREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT OF 1973,
APPROVING THE GRANTS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH UNDER SAID ACT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY AGREEMENTS
• AND DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
by Resolution No. 8353 approved the application of the City
of Newport Beach under the Comprehensive Employment and Training
Act of 1973 (CETA); and
WHEREAS, the City has received grants from the County
of Orange in the amount of $78,907.00 under Title II of the
CETA; and
WHEREAS, under CETA, as amended, Title VI, an addi-
tional $186,023.51 is made available to the City of Newport Beach
to operate said program for public jobs and training; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is a subgrantee of
the County of Orange under CETA; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to make the
assurances under CETA that the City will comply with the provi-
sions thereof, as are more particularly described in the Act and
in the Orange County Manpower Commission Agreement implementing
the grant to the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to
designate the City Manager of the City of Newport Beach to execute
all necessary documents to implement said grants to the City of
Newport Beach,as they may be now constituted and as they may be
amended in the future to increase or decrease the grant to the
City of Newport Beach;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Newport
(1) Assures and certifies that the City of Newport
Beach will comply with the requirements of the Comprehensive
Employment and Training Act of 1973 (P.L. 93 -203, 87 Stat. 839)
and with the regulations and policies promulgated thereunder,

including, utilization of funds, the operation of programs,
the maintenance of records, books, accounts and other documents,
as required by CETA;
(2) Approves the grants hereinbefore made under CETA,
and further approvesincreases, decreases or amendments to said
grants under CETA;
(3) Authorizes the City Manager as the authorized
agent of the City of Newport Beach to execute all documents in
conjunction with CETA in connection with all applications and
grants under CETA, as said grants may presently exist, or be
amended in the future.
