A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING ELECTRIC CART
PARKING SPACES ON BALBOA ISLAND
WHEREAS, Section 12.40.110 of the Newport Beach
• Municipal Code provides that the City Council may by resolution
direct that lines or marks be placed on the curbs or on the
pavement on streets or highways or portions of streets or high-
ways in the City to designate marked parking spaces; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed a proposal to
install electric cart parking spaces in certain areas on Balboa
Island in order to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that
it would be in the best interests of the City in order to
protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Newport
Beach to provide parking spaces for electric vehicles on Balboa
Island;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Traffic Engineer is hereby
authorized to mark the curbs and pavement along Marine Avenue,
Balboa Island, in those areas which are deemed appropriate
for the parking of electric vehicles.
