RESOLUTION NO. 8655
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING AN AREA IN THE
NEW CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS WHERE SMOKING WILL
BE PROHIBITED
WHEREAS, the public has expressed a certain desire
that the City Council set aside an area in the new City Council
Chambers where smoking will be prohibited; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has submitted two plans
to designate a portion of the new Council Chambers as "no
smoking" areas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered said proposals,
and in the interest of protecting the health and convenience of
those persons attending Council meetings who do not smoke,
wishes to adopt Plan 2 which is attached hereto and made a
part herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby directs the City Manager to
set aside and designate with appropriate posting the area shown
on Plan 2 as that area in the new City Council Chambers where
smoking is prohibited during City Council meetings.
