RESOLUTION NO. 8701
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ASCERTAINING THE GENERAL
PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE PAID
IN CONNECTION WITH PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS
• WHEREAS, Section 1773, et seq., of the Labor Code of
. the State of California requires the body awarding contracts
for public works projects to ascertain the general prevailing
rate of per diem wages in the locality where the work is to
be performed for each craft, classification, or type of workman
needed to execute the contract; and
WHEREAS, it is convenient to declare said general
prevailing rate by resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code
of the State of California, the City Council hereby does ascer-
tain, determine, and declare the general prevailing rate of per
diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and
overtime work, including the employer payments for health and
welfare, pension, vacation, and similar purposes, for each craft,
classification, or type of work needed in the execution of the
contracts for public work in the locality of the City of Newport
Beach, to be as set forth in the attached "February, 1976
Prevailing Wage Rates For Building And Construction Trades Of
Orange County, California ", including sub -trade wage rates published
by the Building and Construction Trades Council of Orange County,
which attached schedule
is hereby incorporated in and made a
part of this resolution
to replace the rates heretofore
adopted

and established by Resolution No. 8090 dated September
10, 1973.
A copy of said schedule
is on file at the office of the
Public
Works Director, City of
Newport Beach City Hall, and is
available
during normal working hours for inspection.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk is authorized and directed
to certify to the adoption of this resolution and file a
certified copy thereof,together with the attached schedule,
with the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of
California, pursuant to Section 1773.3 of the Labor Code. The
City Clerk is further directed to cause a copy of this resolution
and the attached schedules to be published once in the official
newspaper of the City.
