RESOLUTION NO. 8764
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE BALBOA ISLAND FERRY
ESTABLISHING A FLAT RATE FEE FOR USE OF
THE FERRY BY CITY EMPLOYEES AND AUTHORIZ-
ING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREE-
MENT
WHEREAS, there has existed for several years an
Agreement providing for the payment by the City of a flat
rate to the Balboa Island Ferry for use of the Balboa Island
Ferry by City employees while on City business; and
WHEREAS, the use of the Balboa Island Ferry by
City employees on City business has increased since the Agree-
ment was last considered; and
WHEREAS, it is fair and equitable to increase the
monthly flat rate fee to more closely relate to the actual
useage of the Balboa Island Ferry by City employees on City
business; and
WHEREAS, it is found and determined that the proposed
Agreement is fair and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the Agreement between the
City and Balboa Island Ferry providing for the flat rate fee
of $200.00 per month for use by City employees on City business
be and is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is
hereby authorized and directed to enter into a letter Agreement
with the Balboa Island Ferry authorizing said payment to the
Balboa Island Ferry from the City of Newport Beach.
