A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION AND
ABANDONMENT OF A SEGMENT OF AN EXISTING 10-
• FOOT WIDE ALLEY NORTHEASTERLY OF WEST COAST
HIGHWAY BETWEEN ORANGE STREET AND COLTON
STREET
WHEREAS, the City Engineer presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach on July 12, 1976, a
certain map prepared by the Public Works Department of the
City of Newport Beach, identified as Drawing No. R /W- 5339 -L,
dated June 30, 1976, showing the segment of the existing
10 -foot wide alley within Resubdivision No. 520, northeasterly
side of West Coast Highway between Orange Street and Colton
Street in the City of Newport Beach which the City is considering
vacating; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach approved and adopted said map on July 12, 1976, and directed
the City Clerk to file same in the proceedings for the abandonment
of said alley; and
WHEREAS, on August 9, 1976, the City Council held a
public hearing for the purpose of hearing all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment of
said above - described segment of an existing 10 -foot wide alley;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines from
all of the evidence submitted that the subject segment of the
existing 10 -foot wide alley described herein and more particularly
in Resolution No. 8829 is unnecessary for present or prospective
public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds and determines,
and it is hereby ordered that the City hereby reserves for public
utility purposes an easement over the segment of alley to be
vacated and abandoned.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that said segment of an existing
10 -foot wide alley, more particularly described as:
"A strip of land, 10.00 feet in width, measured
at right angles, being a portion of the alley
in Block 7 of the Seashore Colony Tract as said
tract is shown on a map recorded in Book 7,
Page 25 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office
of the County Recorder, County of Orange, State
of California; the northwesterly line of said
strip is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of Lot 12
of Block 7 of said tract, thence southwesterly
along the southeasterly lot lines of Lot 12, 13
and 14, said line terminating on the southeasterly
lot line of Lot 14 at the northeasterly corner of
the parcel of land described in a deed recorded
in Book 382, Page 20 of Official Records of said
County."
is hereby ordered vacated and abandoned.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is hereby
ordered to cause a certified copy of such order attested by the
Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the Office ,
of the County Recorder of the County of Orange.
