A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING INTERSECTIONS AT
WHICH VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO STOP (DELETING
GALAXY DRIVE - NORTH END - SANTIAGO DRIVE);
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 7558
WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever an ordinance or
resolution designates and describes an intersection at which
vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto,
the City Traffic Engineer shall erect stop signs at those
entrances of such intersection where a stop is required and
every driver of a vehicle shall stop at such intersection;
and
WHEREAS, on November 8, 1971, the City Council
adopted Resolution No. 7558 designating traffic control at
the intersection of Santiago and Galaxy Drives (north end);
and
WHEREAS, upon recommendation by the City Traffic
Affairs Committee, the City Council has determined that it
is reasonable and in the public interest to allow vehicles
eastbound on Santiago Drive to proceed, without stopping,
through the intersection with Galaxy Drive;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that each of the following
described locations are hereby designated as intersections
at which vehicles are required to stop, and the City Traffic
Engineer is hereby directed to erect and maintain stop signs
• at said locations:
Holiday Road - Santiago Drive
Mariners Drive - Santiago Drive
Nottingham Road - Santiago Drive
Pescador Drive - Santiago Drive
Highland Drive - Mariners Drive
ADOPTED this 28th day of March , 1977.
