RESOLUTION NO. 9242
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ACCEPTING THE ENVIRONMENTAL
DOCUMENT AND REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE THE STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PACIFIC
• COAST HIGHWAY SOUTH SIDE BETWEEN JAMBOREE
ROAD AND AVOCADO AVENUE (C -1900) IN THE FISCAL
YEAR 1978 -79 ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM
WHEREAS,the City of Newport Beach desires to make
street improvements on the southerly side of Pacific Coast Highway
between Jamboree Road and Avocado Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Pacific Coast Highway between Jamboree Road
and Avocado Avenue is classified as a major highway on both the
City Master Plan of Streets and Highways and the Orange County
Master Plan of Arterial Highways and is of general County
interest; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by
appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special
Road Improvements Fund for the Fiscal Year 1978 -79a sum of
money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial
Highway Financing Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby requests the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City
from County funds the amount of $70,000; said amount to be
matched by funds from the City, to be used to aid said City
in the street improvements on the southerly side of Pacific
Coast Highway between Jamboree Road and Avocado Avenue; said
• improvements to be in accordance with the attached project
statement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
work above described is in the general County interest;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution,
the environmental document is hereby accepted, and the City
of Newport Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share
of the cost of improvements will be available for the fiscal
year 1978 -79.
