RESOLUTION NO. 9256
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ENDORSING THE PROPOSED MEMB
OF THE ORANGE COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, the Z'Berg- Kapiloff Solid Waste Control
Act of 1976 requires that there shall be designated within
each County an Enforcement Agency to carry out the provisions.
of the Act; and
WHEREAS, the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement
Agency possesses the required capabilities in environmental
health and solid waste management to implement the Z'Berg
Kapiloff Solid Waste Control Act of 1976; and
WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the County Solid Waste
Management Enforcement Agency, upon approval of a majority of
the cities containing a majority of the population of the
incorporated area of the County and the State Solid Waste
Management Board, will be designated as the Enforcement Agency
for the County and all incorporated cities within the County;
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that it hereby approves the
designation of the County Solid Waste Management Enforcement
Agency comprised of representatives of:
(a) Director of the General Services Agency
(b) Director of the Environmental Management
Agency
(c) Director of the Human Services Agency
(d) Orange County Vector Control District
(e) Orange County Division, League of California
Cities
(f) Sanitary Districts
(g) Private Industry
as the Enforcement Agency for the County and all cities
• contained within the County, pursuant to subsection (a)(1)
of Section 66796 of the Government Code.
ADOPTED this 9th day of January , 1978.
