RESOLUTION NO. 9261
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING THAT
ALL BALLOTS BE COUNTED AT A CENTRAL COUNTING
PLACE (APRIL'COUNCILMANIC- ELECTION)

WHEREAS, it is desirable that all ballots cast by
electors at the General Municipal Election to be held in said
City on Tuesday, April 11, 1978, be counted at a central place;
and
WHEREAS, Section 17050 of the Elections Code of the
State of California authorizes the City Council to provide that
all ballots cast at said General Municipal Election be counted
at a central counting place;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 17050 of the
Elections Code of the State of California, ballots cast by electors
at the General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, April 11,
1978, be counted at a central place.
SECTION 2. That City Hall Lobby is hereby designated
as the central place to count said ballots.
SECTION 3. That notice of the central counting place
is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed
and directed to give such further or additional notice of the
central counting place in time, form and manner as required by
• law.
SECTION 4. That the City. Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make

a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of
the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
SECTION 5. That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately.
ADOPTED this 9th day of January , 1978.
