RESOLUTION NO. 9334
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH COMMENDING THOMAS F. RILEY
ON RECEIVING THE MARDAN CENTER OF EDUCATIONAL.
THERAPY AWARD
WHEREAS, Thomas F. Riley, Chairman of the Orange
County Board of Supervisors, has shown outstanding dedication
and service to youth by his active involvement as a leader
in numerous community organizations; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Riley's contributions include
service as President of Big Brothers of Orange County; Advisory
Board Member of the International Orphans; Honorary Chairman
of the Orange County Marine Corps Toys for Tots program;
Chairman of the Eagle Scouts Review Board; Boy Scouts of
America; and Chairman and Nominating Committee Member, Del Mar
District Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, the Mardan Center of Educational Therapy
is dedicated to the enhancement of successful academic, emotional
and social learning experiences for children frustrated by
failure in their personal growth and development; and
WHEREAS, the Mardan Center of Educational Therapy
is presenting the Mardan Award to Supervisor Riley for his
outstanding dedication and service to youth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that Supervisor Riley is hereby
commended on receiving the Mardan Center of Educational Therapy
Award.
