RESOLUTION NO. 9365
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE AD HOC AIRPORT
• NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the efficient functioning of the City's
business requires the creation of special subcommittees (ad
hoc) of the City Council to study and review community issues
and make recommendations concerning appropriate Council action;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has established procedural
policies governing the conduct and operations of such committees;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors for the County of
Orange is on record in opposition to further expansion of the
Orange County Airport; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it is appro-
priate to explore implementation of the Board's airport policy
into a binding agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby establish the Airport
Negotiating Committee with the following duties and responsi-
bilities:
1. Prepare a list of objectives aimed at controlling
future growth of Orange County Airport.
2. Meet with the Orange County Board of Supervisors
• to discuss a mutually agreeable solution to the Orange
County Airport noise problem which would be incorporated
into a written binding document.

3. Report back to City Council with recommendations.
4. This Committee shall terminate and cease to exist
on June 15, 1979.
ADOPTED this 12th day of June , 1978.
