A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO SUBMIT THE FINAL APPLICATION TO THE STATE
WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD FOR CLEAN WATER
BOND FUNDS TO CONSTRUCT SEDIMENTATION CONTROLS
FOR THE UPPER NEWPORT BAY
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach, in conjunction with
other public agencies, is engaged in a program (208 Study) to
control the flow of sediment into Upper Newport Bay; and
WHEREAS, this program calls for the preparation of an
interim plan to control sedimentation pending adoption of
permanent measures, and such interim plan has been completed; and
WHEREAS, funding for implementation of this interim plan
may be available should an application for funds be approved by
the State Water Resources Control Board,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the City Manager of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby authorized to submit the final applica-
tion to the State Water Resources Control Board for funds to
construct sedimentation controls for Upper Newport Bay.
