A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE
PUBLICATION OF LEGAL NOTICES AND OTHER MATTERS
AND DESIGNATING AN OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER FOR
PUBLICATION OF NOTICES, AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 9789
WHEREAS, Section 419 of`. the Newport Beach City Charter
provides that the City Council shall publish a Notice inviting
bids and contract for the publication of legal notices and other
matters required to be published in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City during the ensuing fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has published such notices
and bids have been received in accordance therewith; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has analyzed said bids and
determined to make the award as hereinafter provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the bid of NEWPORT ENSIGN be
accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be and hereby are
authorized and directed to execute a contract in accordance with
this award for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1981; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that NEWPORT ENSIGN is hereby
designated the official newspaper for the publication of legal
notices and other matters required to be published for the fiscal
year begininin July 1, 1981; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that THE DAILY PILOT is hereby
designated as the alternate official newspaper for the
publication of legal notices and other matters required to be
published for the fiscal year beginnin July 1, 1981, to be used
only if the NEWPORT ENSIGN is unable to timely publish legal
notices and other matters required to be published due to
publication dates, failure of equiment or similar causes; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 9789 is
hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED this 22nd day of June, 1981.
