A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH HARBOR
TOWING COMPANY TO OPERATE AS THE OFFICIAL
POLICE TOW SERVICE OPERATOR AND ISSUING A
CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND
NECESSITY THEREFOR
• WHEREAS, Section 5.15.070 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code requires that the official police tow truck
operator shall obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and
Necessity therefor; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5.15.050 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code a public hearing was held by the City
Council regarding the selection of an official police tow truck
service operator; and
WHEREAS, Harbor Towing Company submitted an application
to the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council. has reviewed the terms and
conditions of said application and finds them to be fair and
equitable and in the best interests of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that there is hereby issued to Harbor
Towing Company a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity
to operate the official police tow truck services within the City
of Newport Beach, pursuant to Section 5.15.070 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Harbor Towing is designated
as the official police tow truck services operator, pursuant to
Section 5.15.030 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the agreement for the tow
truck services above - described are approved and the Mayor and
City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute same on
behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
