Two contracts exceeded the $120,000 threshold and are being reported to Council in this report. RECOMMENDATION: Receive and file report. Provide input as desired. FUNDING REQUIREMENTS: Payments to recreational contractors were previously appropriated by Council during budget adoption and therefore no additional funding is required. DISCUSSION: Council Policy F -14, Authority to Contract for Services, authorizes department directors to award and sign contracts with independent contractors for instructional, educational, cultural, or recreational purposes. The fees paid by the City are based upon either a percentage of fees collected by the City for a program or on a flat rate basis for tasks performed by the Contractor. Contracts for such independent contractors may be up to two years in duration. Per the policy, the City Manager will give written notice to the City Council should fees paid to any contractor exceed $120,000 during the term of the contract.
