Late 2011 — Request from Eastbluff HOA for parking restrictions.
Early 2012 — Field review of parking in area around school.
March 2012 — Meeting with High School Principal, residents,
School District representative and staff.
Spring to Summer 2012 — Juniors given permits. Parking lot
expanded by 50 spaces.
Early 2013 — Follow -up discussions with OLQA Church,
Apartment Owners, High School. Meeting with Eastbluff HOA.
September 2013 — Meeting with NMUSD Superintendent, Staff
and new High School Principal.

• Impacts are not confined to just Aralia Street. Domingo
Drive, Amigos Way and OLQA are also impacted.
• Municipal Code 1z.68 indicates that residential permits can
be considered only if "no alternative solution is feasible or
practical ".
• More noticeable parking impacts during spring semester of
school year.
• NMUSD to review lunch schedule, issuance of junior
permits, and assigned parking spaces in school parking lot.
i. One Hour Parking Limit 7:0o am - 4:00 pm, School Days Only
Pros:
• Reduces or eliminates student parking on streets.
• Less cost than permits. (Administrative).
• Does not allow for students to gain access to parking with
unauthorized permits.
Cons:
• Also limits parking to residents, guests, etc. to one hour period.
• Requires additional enforcement costs.
Two Primary Options

Pros:
• Reduces or eliminates student parking on streets.
• Unrestricted parking for residents with a permit on school days.
Cons:
• Requires additional administrative and enforcement costs.
• Potentially over 700 permits could be issued in new parking Zone.
Unknown variable of resident turnover in apartment areas could
lead to issuance of many additional permits, with possible invalid
or outdated permits in area.
