A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA RELOCATION GUIDELINES AS THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH RELOCATION ASSISTANCE
PLAN FOR REAL PROPERTY ACQUISITION
• WHEREAS, in enacting the provisions of Government Code Section 7260 et. seq.,
the State Legislature required that relocation assistance is to be provided to any person
who is displaced from real property as a result of acquisition of that property by a public
entity for public use; and
WHEREAS, on February 25, 1974, the City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution
No. 8202 which incorporated the October 17, 1973, State of California Relocation
Guidelines as the Relocation Assistance Program for the City of Newport Beach. The
October 17, 1973 guidelines were later superseded by guidelines adopted and effective
January 1, 1977.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach has determined that it is
desirable and necessary to update its Relocation Assistance Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach that:
1. The State of California Relocation assistance and Real Property Acquisition
Guidelines Title 25 of the California Code of Regulations Division 1, Chapter 6,
subchapter 1 (Section 6000 and following) as, prepared and, adopted duly by the State
Department of Housing and Community Development and any applicable subsequent
• amendments are hereby adopted and incorporated as the Relocation Assistance Plan for
the City of Newport Beach.

2. The City Manager or his designated representative is authorized to make
relocation assistance payments as provided in Government Code Section 7260 et. Seq.,
and the Guidelines.
3. Resolution No. 8202 is superseded upon adoption of this Resolution.
