A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE NEWPORT VILLAGE PLANNED COMMUNITY
DISTRICT REGULATIONS TO ESTABLISH THE
PERMITTED LAND USES FOR THE NEWPORT VILLAGE
SITE CONSISTENT WITH THE RECREATIONAL AND
ENVIRONMENTAL OPEN SPACE LAND USE CATEGORY
WHEREAS, the City is the owner through dedication of the site northerly of the
Newport Beach Central Library know as Newport Village; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a clear understanding for the
City and its residents as to the ultimate and long term use of the property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to initiate zoning amendments as
set forth in Section 20.94.020 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
initiate an amendment to the Newport Village Planned Community District Regulations to
specify the permitted uses for the City owned site northerly of the Newport Beach Central
Library (Newport Village).
ADOPTED this 22nd day of May, 2001.

resolution, being Resolution No. 2001.40 was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by
the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the
22nd day of May, 2001, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
