A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE MARINAPARK
MOBILE HOME AD HOC COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, leases between the City and owners of mobile
homes in Marinapark expire in September, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of existing leases
were the result of negotiations between a City Council Committee
and representative of Marinapark homeowners; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Newport Beach that a City Council Committee be formed, with
direction given to the Committee, to make recommendations to the
City Council on the appropriate uses of the Marinapark Mobile
Home Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Marinapark Mobile Home Ad Hoc
Committee be and hereby is established:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the composition, function
and duties of the Marinapark Mobile Home Ad Hoc Committee shall
be as follows:
1. Membership
The Committee shall consist of the Mayor and two
members of the City Council who shall be appointed by the
Mayor; the Mayor shall serve as Chairman and shall appoint a
Vice - Chairman.
2. Duties
The Committee shall have the following duties:
• a. The Committee shall meet with representatives
of the Marinapark Homeowners Association to review and make
recommendations back to the City Council on the future use of the
Mobile Home Park area;
b. The Committee shall interview representatives
of the Planning Commission and the Parks, Beaches & Recreation
• Department and other groups, as necessary, to complete their
assignment.
C. The Committee shall report back to the City
Council periodically, with a final report being made on or before
January 1, 1985.
3. Technical Assistance
Staff support to the Committee shall be provided by
the City Manager's Office. Staff support shall be provided as
requested by the Committee. The Committee may also utilize
technical assistance volunteered by interested parties.
4. 'Termination
This Committee shall cease to exist on January 1,
1985, or at such time as the report of the Committee is
submitted, whichever shall first occur.
