A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION
TO INCLUDE THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO JAMBOREE ROAD
FROM COAST HIGHWAY TO BACK BAY DRIVE IN THE ORANGE COUNTY
• UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST FUND PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEARS
1986/87 THROUGH 1988/89.

WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to make street improvements
to Jamboree Road from Coast Highway to Back Bay Drive; and
WHEREAS, Jamboree Road is classified as a major road on both the City
Master Plan of Streets and Highways and the Orange County Master Plan of
Arterial Highways and is of general County interest; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission intends to, by
appropriate action, provide Special Road Improvements Funds for the improvement
of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the
Orange County Unified Transportation Trust Fund program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Commission to
allocate to said City the amount of $620,000, said amount to be matched by funds
from the City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Jamboree Road
from Coast Highway to Back Bay Drive, said improvements to be in accordance with
the attached project statement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the environmental
document has been processed, and the City of Newport Beach agrees with the basic
concepts of the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust Fund Program; and
further agrees that its share of the cost of constructing the improvements will
be available for the fiscal year 1986/87.
