A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A CITY COUNCIL
ANNEXATION COMMITTEE
• WHEREAS, the future growth of the City is contingent, in
large part, on the annexation of territory currently within the
City's sphere of influence;
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to create a City Council
Committee to evaluate land within the City's sphere of influence
and recommend to the City Council, strategies and procedures for
the annexation of these parcels.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does hereby establish the City Council
Annexation Committee for the evaluation of properties within the
sphere of influence which could be annexed to the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Committee shall have the
following responsibilities and characteristics:
1. The membership shall consist of two members of the
City Council appointed by the Mayor and the Mayor.
2. The term of the Committee shall continue in
existence until further action of the City Council.
3. The Committee shall be staffed as requested by the
Mayor.
• 4. The Committee shall meet as requested by the Mayor.

5. The responsibility of the Corrrnittee will be to
reconanend possibilities and /or strategies for the annexation of
parcels to the City.
