A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR'S EXECUTION
OF THE AUTOMATION AID AGREEMENT AMONG THE
CITIES OF FOUNTAIN VALLEY, HUNTINGTON BEACH,
NEWPORT BEACH, WESTMINSTER AND THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE.
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to enter an
Agreement to provide automatic aid for fire services between the
Cities of Huntington Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley, and the
County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, coordination of automatic aid responses will be
controlled by the consolidated fire emergency communication's
center; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement will authorize the closest
available unit to respond to an emergency regardless of
jurisdictional boundaries and will authorize the sharing of
resources when major emergencies occur; and
WHEREAS, the administration of this Agreement will be
the responsibility of the Fire Chief of each city and county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach as follows:
The Mayor of the City of Newport Beach is hereby
authorized to execute the attached Automation Aid Agreement Among
the Cities of Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach,
Westminster and the County of Orange.
