A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION (OCTC) TO INCLUDE
TRAFFIC SIGNAL INTERCONNECT PROJECTS ON
IRVINE AVENUE, SAN JOAQUIN HILLS ROAD, AND
JAMBOREE ROAD IN THE ORANGE COUNTY UNIFIED
• TRANSPORTATION TRUST ( OCUTT) FUND PROGRAM FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1989/90.
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to make
traffic signal interconnect improvements on Irvine Avenue, San
Joaquin Hills Road, and Jamboree Road; and
WHEREAS, Jamboree Road, San Joaquin Hills Road, and a
portion of Irvine Avenue are classified as major roads on both
the City Master Plan of Streets and Highways and the Orange
County Master Plan of Arterial Highways and are of general
countywide interest; and
WHEREAS, the OCTC intends to appropriate funds for
traffic signal interconnect projects in accordance with the OCUTT
Fund program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach hereby requests the OCTC to allocate
funds in the amounts specified in the City's application from
OCUTT funds. Said funds shall be matched by funds from the
Cities of Newport Beach, Irvine, and Costa Mesa, as well as from
the County of Orange Environmental Management Agency (EMA) , as
shall be used to aid the City in the improvement of traffic
signal interconnect along Irvine Avenue, Jamboree Road, and San
Joaquin Hills Road in fiscal year 1989/90.
