HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-50 - Local Coastal Program Amendment 25Resolution No. 92 -50 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM AMENDMENT NO. 25 AMENDING THE LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM LAND USE PLAN OF • THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH SO AS TO REDESIGNATE PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF PARK AVENUE AND AGATE AVENUE FROM "RETAIL AND SERVICE COMMERCIAL" TO "TWO- FAMILY RESIDENTIAL" USE (LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM AMENDMENT NO. 25) WHEREAS, the Coastal Act of 1976 requires the City of Newport to prepare a local coastal program; and WHEREAS, as part of the development and implementation of the Coastal Act, a Local Coastal Program Land Use Plan has been prepared; and WHEREAS, said Land Use Plan sets forth objectives and supporting policies which serve as a guide for future development in coastal areas of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a duly noticed public hearing to consider a certain amendment to the Land Use Plan of the Newport Beach Local Coastal Program; and WHEREAS, in conjunction with the consideration of the above referenced amendment to the Land Use Plan of the Local Coastal Program, it has been determined to be Categorically Exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Class 3 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures); and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that all changes necessary to reflect the amendments adopted in General Plan Amendment 92 -1(A) be incorporated into the Newport Beach Local Coastal Program, Land Use Plan as follows: That the property located on the northwesterly comer of Park Avenue and • Agate Avenue (498 Park Avenue and 203 Agate Avenue), more particularly described as Lots 22 and 23, Block 8, Section One, Balboa Island be reclassified from "Retail and Service Commercial" to "Two - Family Residential" use.
