RESOLUTION NO. 92 - 133
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUIRING VEHICLES
TRAVELLING EASTBOUND ON 15TH STREET TO
STOP AT REDLANDS AVENUE AND AT
WESTMINSTER AVENUE.
WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides, among other things, that whenever
any ordinance or resolution of this City designates and
describes any street or portion thereof as a through street,
or any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at
one or more entrances thereto, the City Traffic Engineer
shall erect and maintain stop signs on each and every street
intersecting such through street or portion thereof so
designated; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is a
need for intersection control on 15th Street at Redlands
Avenue and Westminster Avenue in the City of Newport Beach;
and
WHEREAS, the westbound approaches of these two
intersections lie within the City of Costa Mesa; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa requires westbound
vehicles to stop at these locations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach, that the following described
location is hereby designated as a location at which vehicles
travelling eastbound are required to stop:
15th Street at Redlands Avenue
15th Street at Westminster Avenue
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic
Engineer be and hereby is directed to erect and maintain all
necessary signs at the above location.
