BEACH SUPPORTING FEDERAL LEGISLATION ENDING THE PRACTICE
OF IMPOSING UNFUNDED FEDERAL MANDATES ON LOCAL AND
STATE GOVERNMENTS AND TO ENSURE THAT THE FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT PAYS THE COSTS INCURRED BY THOSE
GOVERNMENTS IN COMPLYING WITH CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS
UNDER FEDERAL STATUTES AND REGULATIONS
iWHEREAS, unfunded Federal mandates on State and local governments
have become increasingly extensive in recent years; and
WHEREAS, as indicated on the attachment these mandates cost the City of

have in many instances, undermined the ability of State and local governments to
achieve their responsibilities under State and local law,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE
AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Support Federal legislation which would end the practice of imposing unfunded

requirements under Federal statutes and regulations.
This Resolution shall be forwarded by the Office of the City Clerk to all
interested parties.
