RESOLUTION NO. 95- 42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VIA OPORTO
BETWEEN VIA LIDO AND CENTRAL AVENUE
WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code authorizes the City to adopt
rules and regulations by ordinance or resolution regarding assemblages on
and temporary closures of City streets; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 10.08 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
provides that the City Council may adopt a resolution permitting the closure
of a City street for the purpose of selling and displaying merchandise for the
conduct of special events, provided a permit is issued by the City Manager
pursuant to Chapter 5.10; and
WHEREAS, a special event permit has been issued to Lois L. Streit to
conduct a Gift and Garden Show in the Lido Marina Village on May 13 & 14,
July 15 & 16, October 21 & 22, November 18 & 19, December 9 & 10, 16 &
17, 1995 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and dusk which includes the
temporary closure of Via Oporto between Via Lido and Central Avenue in the
Lido Marina Village to display and sell merchandise.
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Newport Beach
resolves as follows:
1. Lois L. Streit shall be permitted to display merchandise at events
which include the closure of Via Oporto between Via Lido and Central
Avenue in the Lido Marina Village between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and dusk
on May 13 & 14, July 15 & 16, October 21 & 22, November 18 & 19,
December 9 & 10, 16 & 17, 1995.
ADOPTED, this 8th day of May, 1995.
