NOTICE OF SPECIAL REVIEW
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., a public meeting will be conducted in the City Council Chambers at 100
Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach will consider the following application:
Newport Beach Golf Course Telecommunications Permit - The applicant requests a telecommunication (telecom) facility permit to construct a 65-
foot -tall monopole at the Newport Beach Golf Course. The monopole will house six panel antennas, and will function as a replacement netting
support post for the driving range along Mesa Drive. The proposed telecom facility support equipment will be ground- mounted and enclosed behind a
new eight- foot -high slump stone wall. The application requires special review by the City Council because the proposed monopole exceeds the
maximum permitted height limit of 50 -feet.
The project is categorically exempt under Section 15303 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines - Class 3 (New
Construction).
No formal public hearing shall be required in conjunction with review of this proposed telecom facility. However, the City Council may hear and
consider comments from the public during its review of the application. All interested parties may appear and present testimony in regard to this
application. If you challenge this project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the City Council
meeting (described in this notice) or in written correspondence delivered to the City, at or prior to, the review. The agenda, staff report, and
documents may be reviewed at the City Clerk's Office 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, California, 92660, or at the City of Newport Beach
