SUGGESTED
ACTION: Appoint Mark Murrel as Mariners Mile Representative, Ron
Baers as Member At Large, and Reassign Steve Sutherland as
Member At Large to fill vacancies on Economic Development
Committee
The Economic Development Committee wishes to nominate Mark Murrel as the representative for
• Manners Mile. Mr. Munel's company is owner of commercial property on Mariners Mile and he is

Mr. Baers is an urban design architect and planner who is involved with many Newport Beach

RESUME •
MARK G. MURREL
Mark G. Murrel is a 38 year resident of Newport Beach. Mr. Murrel is a principal of The Murrel
Company, a Newport Beach based commercial real estate firm. During the past 15 years, the
principals of The Murrel Company ( "TMC ") have been directly involved in the development,
acquisition and management of over 2.0 million square feet of suburban office, industrial, and
business park properties in the Southern California region. TMC's strong relationships with
financial institutions, life insurance companies, pension funds, and property owners have enabled
the firm to pursue acquisitions of quality, well located properties. This includes stabilized
performing real estate assets, undervalued properties, and mortgage backed notes. Mr. Murrel
graduated from Newport Harbor High School and received a business degree from the University
of Southern California. An affiliate of TMC recently purchased Manner's Mile Marine Center on
