May we ask you to carry a request to the City Council for sponsorship of the
Executive Director
2d Annual 5K Run/Walk? This year's event will require similar services as
last year with the added request of Mr. Wes Armand's official participation.
Wes was a tremendous asset to the volunteer Run Committee last year and
would be an invaluable help to us this year. ;
Bob Black at the Catalina Flyer has again agreed to donate complimentary
passes for the first 500 runners, Ken Honig of Honig Investment Group has
again agreed to donate awards and trophies, and many of the merchants who
contributed refreshments and supplies last year are happy to participate in the
2d Annual event.

We have engaged a local designer to create a colorful brochure to be distributed to
runners and racewalkers throughout Orange County. In short, this is shaping up to be a
bigger success than last year. Having the City's support again will be a significant
element in that success.
We enclose a fact sheet on the event. If you need us to make this request in person at the
City Council, please let us know.
Thank you for your help with this request and all past support.
Sincerely yours,
