SUBJECT: Appointments to Environmental Quality Affairs Committee

SUGGESTED
ACTION: Appoint members from each City Council District, and confirm the
appointments recommended by EQAC.
At the City Council meeting of January 23, the Council deferred making appointments to the
Environmental Quality Affairs Committee until the Committee made its appointment
recommendations pursuant to the Resolution establishing EQAC.
The Membership Subcommittee of EQAC surveyed the existing Committee members to
determine their interest in continuing to serve and the capacity in which they would like to serve.
The subcommittee then made recommendations for appointments, which will be considered by
the full EQAC at their meeting of February 12, 2001. Staff will provide an oral report on
EQAC's action at the City Council meeting.
Following are the recommendations from EQAC's Membership Subcommittee.

In addition to the members recommended by the Committee, the Resolution establishing EQAC
provides that each Council Member is to appoint a member from his or her District. Council
Members Glover and Bromberg have indicated that they wish to appoint Gale Demmer and Jack
Callahan, respectively, as their District representatives.
