SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA — June 21, 2001
SUMMARY: Report of the actions of the Planning Commission
Item I regarding the Draft Housing Element was discussed and was continued to date uncertain after the 45 -day
review period by the California Department of Housing and Community Development. (6 Ayes, I Absent)
Item 2 regarding 2315 Pacific Drive (PA2001 -063) was continued to July 19th to allow time for re- design of a
portion of the project by the applicant. (6 Ayes, I Absent)
Item 3 regarding Newport Coast(Ridge Development Agreement was recommended for approval and is
automatically forwarded to the City Council. (5Ayes, IAbsent, I Excused)
Item 4 regarding the Subdivision Code Update was continued to July 19th at the request of the Planning
Commission. (5 Ayes, I Absent, I Excused)

SUBJECT: Draft Housing Element
SUMMARY: Review and discussion of proposed draft Housing Element.
ITEM NO. 2.
SUBJECT: Glabman residence (PA2001 -063)
2315 Pacific Drive
SUMMARY: Request for a variance to permit an addition to an existing single
family residence of which a portion of the new construction exceeds
the 24 -foot height limit, ranging from approximately 2 feet to 11.4
feet. The proposal includes a modification request to permit
encroachments of a garage into the front and side yard setbacks (5
9
feet into the required 17.5 -foot front yard setback and 4 feet into the
required 4 -foot side yard setback along the northerly property line).

SUBJECT: Newport Coast/Ridge Development Agreement
City of Newport Beach on behalf of The Irvine Company
SUMMARY: Request to amend Development Agreement No. 14 (Newport
CoasVRidge Development Agreement) to establish procedures for
administering the Newport Coast local coastal program (LCP) and
for monitoring water quality improvements.
REQUIRED Hold public hearing;
ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. recommending that the City Council
approve Development Agreement No. 14
ITEM NO. 4.
SUBJECT: Subdivision Code Update
SUMMARY: Code Amendment No. CA2001 -002: City initiated amendment to
revise Revised Subdivision Code for the City. A City initiated
amendment to revise the City's Subdivision Code (Title 19 of the
Municipal Code) and to make related changes to Title 20 (Zoning
Code), Title 13 (Streets, Sidewalks and Public Property), and other
Titles, in order to overhaul and update provisions governing
subdivisions throughout the City, including design, processing,
improvements, condominium conversions, lot mergers, and other
matters.
REQUIRED Hold public hearing;
ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. recommending that the City Council
approve Code Amendment No. CA2001 -002
