CITY COUNCIL AGENDA
ITEM NO. 3
TO: Mayor and Members of the City Council COUNCIL AGENDA
FROM: Public Works Department ISO. 3
q /a5 /o 1
SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2001- TO RESCIND CURRENT
RESOLUTION NO. 91 -100, PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON BAY
AVENUE
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2001- to rescind Resolution No. 91 -100, which established
a No Parking/Tow -Away Zone on the northerly side of Bay Avenue between Palm and
Adams Streets on Fridays and Saturdays between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and midnight.
DISCUSSION:
On October 14, 1991, the City Council adopted Resolution 91 -100, which established
the above parking restrictions on the north side of Bay Avenue between Palm Street
and Adams Street. The restrictions were enacted to address the busy weekend
conditions in the area, allowing traffic easier access to the multi -story parking garage.
Currently, there is no longer a need for the on- street parking restrictions on this
segment of Bay Avenue. By deleting the No Parking/Tow Away Zone, local businesses
will also benefit from additional on- street parking on Friday and Saturday evenings.
