Based on your project plans and information provided in your permit
application for the development described below, the Executive Director of the
Coastal Commission hereby waives the requirement for a Coastal Development
Permit pursuant to Section 13238.1, Title 14, California Administrative Code.
If, at a later date, this information is.found to be incorrect or the plans.

must cease until a coastal development permit is obtained -or -any discrepancy
is resolved in writing.

LOCATION: 649 Via Lido Soud, NEWPORT BEACH
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT: Modification of existing boat dock consisting of
removal of a portion of one finger and attaching it to the other dock finger
and install 2 new piles. The new dock configuration will be within the US
Project line.
RATIONALE: The proposed development will have no adverse impacts on coastal
access or resources, is consistent with the City's LUP and with Chapter 3
policies of the Castal Act and with past Commission actions.
This waiver will not become effective until reported to the Commission at their
January 8-11, 1991 meeting and the site of the proposed
�evelopment has been appropriately noticed, pursuant to 13054(b) of t -he
Administrative Code. The enclosed Notice Card shall remain posted at the site
until the waiver has been validated and no less than seven days prior to the
Commission hearing. If four (4) Commissioners -object to this -waiver of permit
requirements, a coastal development permit will be required.

Gentlemen:
Reference is made to your request of September 6, 1990 (Permit no. 90 -500 -
GS). Under the provisions -of Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of
March 3, 1899 (33 U.S.C. 403), you are hereby authorized to modify an existing
boat dock in Newport Bay at 649 Via Lido Soud, Newport Beach, Orange County,
California, as shown on the enclosed drawings and subject to the enclosed
conditions.
The owner or authorized responsible official must sign and date all copies
of this Letter of Permission (LOP) indicating that he/she agrees to the work
as described and to comply with all conditions. One of the signed copies of
this Letter of Permission must be returned to the Corps of Engineers (a pre -
addressed envelope is enclosed for your convenience). Notice of the
commencement of the activity must reach this office at least 10 days before
the activity actually starts. Please use the enclosed card.
