Please be advised that live aboards are not permitted at a residentially zoned pier such as yours. The Harbor Permit Policies, Section: General Provisions For Permits For Harbor Structures — K, state: "In those areas of the Harbor where the piers and floats are bayward of residential zoned areas, live aboards shall not be permitted." I have asked the Orange County Sheriff s Department, Harbor Patrol, to assist us in monitoring this vessel. Current rules allow for people to stay aboard their vessel 3 nights out of every 30 days. Please take the necessary measures to cease live aboard activity at your residential dock within seven (7) calendar days from the date of this letter. If you fail to take corrective action to bring your dock into compliance by November 2, 2005, an Administrative Citation may be issued to you, the pier permittee, and penalties will begin to accrue ($100, $200, $500 daily increments). Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated in this matter. If you have any questions regarding the enforcement of the Harbor Permit Policies, please feel free to give me a call.
