Sirs:
The City of Newport Beach Marine Department has received a request
to transfer pier permit 200-0842-1 for the above mentioned
property. The facility was inspected on April 25, 1997.
We cannot transfer the pier permit until the following deficiency
has/have been corrected and WE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF TEE
CORRECTION:
1. A City -approved anti -syphon device is -required at the water
connection for the water supply to thd�-pi - er and float. A sketch
showing the approved type of device and..its installation is
enclosed. This requirement is in accordance with Title 17 of the
California Administrative Code.
The Newport Beach City Council Harbor Permit Policies state:
10.D. "At the time of transfer, all harbor structures
shall be inspected for compliance with the City Is minimum
plumbing, electrical and structural requirements, and the
conditions of the existing permit. All structural
deficiencies must be corrected prior to transfer of the
permit."
PLEASE ADVISE THIS DEPARTMENT WHEN THE ABOVE DEFICIENCIES HAVE BEEN

Dear Mr. Tsujioka:
On May 30, 1991 the City of Newport Beach issued a Harbor Permit to
rebuild the existing dock bayward of your residence at 842 Harbor
Island Drive. A recent field inspection reveals that at least one
of the pilings supporting the structure has not been driven into
place and is currently standing 20 to 30 feet above the water level
at your residence.
We are concerned that this work has not been completed. The Public
Works approval of the dock as designed was predicated upon all the
pilings being in place. Obviously one has not been properly
installed, so the structure has not been built according to the
plan. It presents a hazard for vessels as berthed and might become
a hazard if certain wind conditions prevail.
Please contact the Marine Deprtment within 15 days of receipt of
this letter to apprise us of your schedule for proceeding to
install the dock properly and as approved.

Newport Beach, California. -
The structure was %spected on 3/11/87 at which time -it was determined -
that the following deficiencies exist:
1. We can transfer the pier permit after we receive the.fee and signed
transfer cards, as the pier meets minimal standards.
2. For'notice of buyer and -sellers, however,'we call -attention to,
the illegal.electrical cord running from shore to boat at dock
