Real Estate Administration Projects
• New lease agreement with Lighthouse Cafe, LLC for the
Light House Cafe at the new Marina Park.
• Lease agreement with Newport -Mesa Unified School
District for the joint use of City park land adjacent to
Newport Elementary School.
• Transfer of land from the City of Irvine to the City of
Newport Beach, specifically open space that is owned by the
City of Irvine but located in the City of Newport Beach
Upcoming General Plan Amendments
• Balboa Village
• ExplorOcean — expanded Educational Center, including
waterside improvements
• Newport Center
• Beacon Bay Car Wash to be redeveloped with 49 residential
condominiums- 7 stories high
• Airport Area
• Koll Center Newport — Creation of a mixed -use project by
adding 260 residential units and ancillary retail
• Saunders Property — Creation of a mixed -use project including
325 Residential units
Upcoming Municipal Code Amendments
• Streamlined review of Permit Process for Solar projects that
fall within a certain threshold (AB 2188). Need to adopt by
September 30th
• West Newport Area Overlay to allow additional height for
residential structures in conjunction with improved site
design
• Code clean ups - such as:
• Reinstatement of the prohibition of residential condominiums
on Balboa Island
• Clarifying language regarding Residential Building Records
• Nonconforming Structures- Amount of Addition allowed and
