Regarding the pier permit for the above property, the permit cannot be transferred until
the following corrections have been completed and a re -inspection to confirm that the
work has been done.
1. A backflow prevention device installed on the water service to the pier. See attached.
2. The electrical outlet on the pier must be GFI for use in a water environment.
Please notify this office when the property can be re -inspected, by calling 644-3043.

The City of Newport Beach has received a second complaint regarding
the pier and float bayward from 326 Buena Vista.
Specifically, the complaint is that a vessel continues to be
berthed in violation of Section 21.A. of the City Harbor Permit
Policies, which states:
21.A. " boats moored at private or public docks shall not
extent beyond the projection of the property lines of the
property to which the dock facility is connected..."
A field inspection conducted October 14, 1993, revealed that the
vessel is still berthed in a position that extends across the
property line and does encroach into the permit area of 324 Buena
Vista.
Please relocate the vessel to adhere to Section 21.A within 15 days
from the date on this letter.

Dear Mr. Barth:
The City of Newport Beach has received a complaint Regarding
the pier and float bayward from 326 Buena Vista, Newport
Beach.
Specifically, the complaint is that there is a vessel berthed

Sirs:
The City of Newport Beach Marine Department has received a request
to transfer pier permit #0114-326 for the property located at 326
Buena Vista Island, Newport Beach, CA. The facility was
inspected on 7/28/89.
We cannot transfer the pier permit until the following
deficiency(ies) has/have been corrected and WE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED
OF THE CORRECTION:
1. A City approved anti -syphon device is required at the water
connection to the pier and float. A drawing and description of
the device approved by the City is enclosed.
The City Harbor Permit Policies state:
10.D. "At the time of transfer, all harbor structures
shall be inspected ,for compliance with the City's
minimum plumbing, electrical and structural
requiremenmts, and the conditions of the existing
permit. All structural deficiencies must be corrected
prior to transfer of the permit."
A permit for plumbing or electrical work must be obtained from the
Building Department of the City.
PLEASE ADVISE THIS DEPARTMENT WHEN THE ABOVE DEFICIENCIES HAVE
BEEN CORRECTED. When we have been notified, the structure will
again be inspected and when the requirements have been met the
pier permit will be transferred.

Sirs:
The City of Newport Beach Fire and Marine Department has received
a request to transfer pier permit 114-0326-1 for the above
mentioned property. The facility was inspected on October 10,
1997.
We cannot transfer the pier permit until the following deficiency
has/have been corrected and WE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE
CORRECTION:
1. A City -approved anti -syphon device is required at the water
connection for the water supply to the pier and float. A sketch
showing the approved type of device and its installation is
enclosed. This requirement is in accordance with Title 17 of the
California Administrative Code.
2. The electrical outlets on the dock must be GFI or twist lock
receptacles for use in a water environment.
The Newport Beach City Council Harbor Permit Policies state:
10.D. "At the time of transfer, all harbor structures
shall be inspected for compliance with the City's
minimum plumbing, electrical and structural
requirements, and the conditions of the existing
permit. All deficiencies must be corrected prior to
transfer of the
permit."
