The facility was inspected on June 29, 1999. We cannot transfer the pier permit until the following deficiency has/have been corrected and we have been notified of the corrections: 1. The decking on the pier walkway is 8' instead of 4' as was indicated on the plans Submitted to the City in December 1996 for the maintenance permit. This additional Portion must be removed. The Newport Beach City Council Harbor Permit Policies require that at the time of transfer, all harbor structures shall be inspected for compliance with the City's minimum standards, and the conditions of the existing permit. All structural deficiencies must be corrected prior to transfer of the permit. Please advise this department when the above deficiencies have been corrected. I left the permit fees the same but if this is incorrect, please let me know and I will get you a corrected check. The reason for the correction is the following;, Mr. Warmington was applying for a slip, ramp and pier to be constructed at 314 Buena Vista Blvd. After he met his neighbor, Mrs —March, the possibility of making a_joint pier/dock was discussed. Both parties felt this would be much better, in that, more beach would be left clear, their view would be less obstructed and of course the water would be less cluttered. Although the cost of construction will be slightly more, I think :this is really a good idea, especially for this installation, since there is a little congestion already.
