It is my understanding, that as a result of that requirement, you would be willing to condition the permit that there be no more than 4 boats allowed to be berthed at the facility with a maximum size of 82 feet. That condition will be added to the permit. Violation of permit conditions could result in revocation of the pier permit as outlined in Section 17.24.090 (7) of the Newport Beach Municipal Code. Since that time the Marine Department has merged with the Fire Department and as such the Fire and Marine Department now seeks the review and approval from the Fire Marshall's office of all revisions to commercial zoned docks and all residential docks that can berth five (5) or more vessels. The Fire Inspector conducted an initial inspection of the facility on April 17, 1997, and has made a preliminary determination that this facility has the potential for berthing of more than five (5) vessels, and is more than one hundred -fifty feet (150) from fire apparatus access. Therefore, the docks might have to be provided with an approved wet standpipe with fire hose cabinet, and a fire extinguisher (2A20BC) in each hose cabinet. Dear Sir: The marina facilities bayward of the Lido Shores Hotel was inspected on December 19, 1973 by the City's Electrical Inspector and a representative from the Marine Safety Depart- ment staff, at which time it was determined that the electrical installation on the docks are extremely hazardous and strictly in violation of the National Electric Code and Municipal Code. In particular, all wiring must be in conduit, twist -lock plug connections are required and two wire extension cords are prohibited.
